John Edward Parker, 75, of Hilo died Monday at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Chicago, he was a retired software designer. Earle Jack Dye, Jr., 72, of Waimea died Saturday. Born in Honolulu, he was a rancher, retired Honolulu police officer, and retired director of security at Mauna Kea Beach Resort. He attended Imiola Congregational Church, was a member of the Makule League and a member of the State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers. Joseph Nicholas Castelli, 86, of Kailua-Kona died May 17 at his residence. Born in Boston, he was a retired advanced engineering specialist for GTE Sylvania and veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He served as president of the Surf and Racquet Club board, was past director of Pulama Ia Kona, was a member of the Kona Historical Society, St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Kona Hiking Club, was a Kona town historian and was active in preserving the Hawaiian culture. Friends may call at noon Tuesday at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona for a graveside service.
